A Florida couple accidentally hauled an 11-pound stash of marijuana home from Louisiana, authorities said.
The Key Largo husband and wife carried the leafy contraband throughout a 900-mile journey before they got back to Florida, popped open a pair of mysterious suitcases and discovered bags of weed inside. The alarmed couple quickly called the local sheriff’s office, authorities said.
“This could have been really bad,” Monroe County Sheriff Sgt. Al Ramirez said in a statement. “These people were traveling all over with this stuff in their truck. If they had been pulled over with it, they could have wound up in jail and their truck may have been seized.”
The strange case of the accidental smugglers began in July when a puzzling package arrived at one of the couple’s rental properties in Louisiana. A housekeeper informed the husband, who told her to ship it back to UPS. The man told a deputy the cleaning lady returned the box, but it was later shipped back to the rental and she put it inside.
The box was still there when the husband and wife recently took a trip to check on several of their vacation properties. They opened the box and found two locked blue suitcases inside. Thinking the bags were lost luggage being returned to someone, they tossed them in their truck and planned to deal with them later, authorities said.
They finally decided to cut off the locks when they got home and discovered two sealed bags stuff with marijuana.
They called the sheriff’s office on Wednesday.
Ramirez said the marijuana was confiscated and would be destroyed.

This is what you do Dwight Howard, go to the Lakers Stadium while its empty and take several seats. Just get up and set down over and over til you get over yourself. You just take care of your 3 million kids. I don't care for Kobe like that but the one thing I can say about him is atleast he just has children with his wife even if he is/was just a big a whore as you.

The Los Angeles Lakers worked hard to retain Dwight Howard this summer, but the free agent center wanted two specific things that the team wouldn’t grant. Howard apparently insisted, according to former ESPN reporter Ric Bucher that the Lakers “fire Mike D’Antoni and amnesty, or at the very least muzzle, Kobe Bryant.”
The Lakers passed on that not-so-modest proposal from Howard.
If L.A. gave Howard what he wanted, the Lakers could be looking at a radically different team right now. Using the amnesty clause on Bryant would’ve been controversial, but firing D’Antoni would’ve been easy and the team could have let Kobe walk in free agency a year from now. In 12 months, this could have been Howard’s team.
The Lakers never had any intention of dumping one of the most important players in franchise history, even if Kobe is nearing the end of his career. This isn’t to say the Lakers chose Bryant over Howard, but it’s clear the two players couldn’t co-exist in Los Angeles much longer than they did.
Meanwhile, the gripes from Howard regarding D’Antoni aren’t exactly news. It’s long been known that Howard was dissatisfied with his role in the coach’s offensive system, even though D’Antoni pointed out after his signing with Houston that the Rockets run a very similar offense.
That said, it’s easy to question the Lakers’ decision. Howard may have his warts, but he’s a supremely talented 27-year-old center in a league lacking good ones. With their best days likely behind them, Bryant and D’Antoni presumably won’t be able to have the same impact on a franchise.
But the Lakers stayed loyal to their franchise player and will continue on this path. Through all the turmoil, the Lakers and Kobe have stayed together — as we’ve seen, even Dwight Howard couldn’t break up the partnership.

The Atlanta rapper was taken into custody early Thursday morning after a nine-hour standoff with police. 2 Chainz had just performed in concert with rappers T.I. and Lil Wayne hours earlier.
UK’s Daily Mail reports that the rapper’s tour bus was pulled over when officers observed a broken tail light. After pulling the bus over, police detected the pungent aroma of marijuana in the air and attempted to board the bus, but the occupants locked the bus and prevented the police from boarding.
When the bus occupants refused to exit the bus, the vehicle was towed — occupants and all — to a nearby police training facility.
The 35-year-old rapper made headlines in June when he was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight in the San Francisco bay area. The brazen robbers later posted a photo of the 2 Chainz’s driver’s license and VISA debit card on a social networking website.

The driver of the vehicle was quickly arrested but officers had to wait until the next morning to obtain a warrant to gain entry onto the bus.
While obtaining the warrant, police towed the large touring vehicle to a nearby law enforcement training facility.
On Thursday morning, 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was arrested along with 10 other people on charges of obstructing a police officer, according to Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.
According to Wardlow investigators obtained a warrant and all 11 people came off the bus around 9 a.m.
They were arrested on the obstruction charge and booked into Oklahoma County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
Wardlow also reported that investigators found narcotics on the bus, but don’t know to whom those belonged. She said more charges could be filed later.

A 19-year-old survived a dangerous sodium overdose after drinking more than a quart of soy sauce on a dare, according to a case study in the Journal of Emergency Medicine.
After drinking a quart of the sodium-heavy condiment, the teenager slipped into coma with seizure-like activity. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors determined he was suffering from hypernatremia, a metabolic condition in which there is a salt imbalance in the bodily fluids.
Eventually doctors determined that he had ingested 160 to 170 grams of sodium from the soy sauce, a potentially lethal dose for his weight and build. He had effectively overdosed on sodium.
“He didn’t respond to any of the stimuli that we gave him,” Dr. David J. Carlberg, who treated the patient as an emergency room physician at University of Virginia Medical Center, told LiveScience. “He had some clonus, which is just elevated reflexes. It’s a sign that basically the nervous system wasn’t working very well.”
According to the NIH, severe hypernatremia can result in excessive sodium in bodily fluid, which causes excess water to flow into cells to balance sodium levels. While some cells can handle the swelling, in brain cells the excess swelling can lead to neurological damage or death. Other symptoms include mental confusion, convulsions, fatigue, and nausea.
While in the past, doctors slowly lowered sodium levels in patients suffering from hypernatremia in order to protect the body from further shock, in this case doctors worked quickly to lower the patient’s sodium level as soon as possible to protect his brain. They quickly tried to flush the salt from his system with a water-and-sugar-based solution in an effort to protect his brain from lasting damage.
Eventually the doctors were able to stabilize the patient, even though he remained in a coma. After three days he woke up from the coma without suffering any lasting neurological damage.
While death from sodium is incredibly rare, it is not unheard of. According to the case study’s authors, in ancient China, salt overdoses were one traditional way to commit suicide.

The incident reportedly took place at the Antonella 2012 Club, a pole dancing bar in the Chacao neighbourhood.
The US confirmed two of its embassy staff in Caracas were being treated for non-threatening injuries after an “incident at some sort of social spot”.
Local media named the pair as Roberto Ezequiel Rosas and Paul Marwin.
The shooting happened on Tuesday morning, Venezuelan officials said.
It is not clear whether it occurred inside or outside the club, which is located in an upmarket part of town.
Police said one man was hit in the abdomen, while the other was shot in the leg and abdomen.
“Apparently it was a fight originating in a nightspot where these people were attacked,” Venezuelan police spokesman Duncan Rico told local media.
“Shots were fired at them and they suffered gunshot wounds.”
The US State Department said embassy officials in Caracas were liaising with the two men and their families.
Spokesman Patrick Venetrell said the incident happened in “some sort of social spot or somewhere outside the embassy grounds”.
Caracas is thought to be one of the most dangerous cities in Latin America.

Joseline is allegedly “shooting up” as she races around the country making club appearances every night for cash, according to the source. “Her schedule doesn’t give her time to hit the gym to give her body that look that she likes.”
“There are many different types of steroids that have different effects on men and women,” said the source, who is familiar with steroids. “In Joseline’s case, the hormones makes her moody and makes her body look too manly.”
Steroid use comes with other worrisome side effects. The friend said Joseline is forced to shave her face and extremities to get rid of excess body hair. Joseline’s camp worries that the aggression and heart problems that accompanies illegal steroid use could kill Joseline.
