I Love Hearing What Others Have To Say...So Leave a Comment:

LeftoverSwap app, created by Dan Newman and Bryan Summersett, allows diners to share food for free.

I myself find it disgusting I don't live in a small community of people I trust; Even if I did you cant trust everyone to be as clean as you.  \

Hell sometimes you my have a time with being sanitary.  When your at home I'm certain there's a relax state where you don't care if you put your sandwich ontop of a bag of chips you got from the store because you didn't feel like washing a plate..I'm just saying Read more after the break where this is going down and when..

Sick of last night’s leftover lomain taking up space in your fridge? Now you can trade it for someone else’s leftovers.

In an effort to reduce food waste, co-founders Dan Newman and Bryan Summersett, a Seattle-based programmer, have created Leftover Swap, a free app that lets diners trade or give away their excess grub by taking food photos and uploading them to the database

“If you have a little community in your neighborhood and you don't want to eat the same lasagna for a week, why not trade that with another family?” Co-founder Dan Newman told the Daily News

Good samaritans looking to lighten their leftover load can simply snap a food photo and post it to the app’s database while hungry browsers can arrange a pickup or delivery much like a Craigslist interaction.

Newman and Summersett came up with the freegan-inspired idea as a joke after ordering too much pizza three years ago while roomates at the University of Michigan. They’ve since realized they could be feeding a greater cause.
“Besides the 40% of food we waste, there is 16% of the American population without enough food to live a healthy lifestyle, which is mind boggling,” says Newman, hoping the app will be a small step towards reducing world hunger by sharing meals with neighbors.
